We are a club comprised of owners, breeders and lovers of the English Springer Spaniel. Our mission is to “encourage, promote, and protect quality, responsibility and welfare in the breeding and owenrship of purebred English Springer Spaniels, and to do all possible, through member and public education, to bring their natural qualities and working abilities to perfection” (from PSESSA’s Constitution)

My husband Kurt and I live in Keizer, Oregon and have been the proud owners of 3 English Springer Spaniels. We have had dogs all our married life (42 years) and raised Labrador Retrievers back in the 1970’s, but fell in love with the English Springer Spaniel when we got our first one for pheasant hunting back in Michigan. We absolutely love the breed and applaud those of you who work daily, devoting your time to perpetuate the best qualities this breed has to offer and striving to maintain the highest of breed standards.
Our last Springer, our beloved Trooper was put to sleep in January 2012 at the age of 13 due to advanced arthritis that weakened and crippled his back legs and hips (he was from the Salilyn Kennels). It is still difficult to talk about him now, as he was a member of our family. In true Springer fashion, he lived every single day to please us and do what we wanted.
We are now ready to get another dog and, of course, would love another Springer. Even though we trained dogs in our earlier years and have always gotten a puppy, my husband’s health is such that we are looking for a Springer who is already house trained and not constantly chewing on everything. We prefer liver and white and are looking for a female.
I am wondering if you, or anyone you know, has a dog that is 4-6 months or older that is looking for a fabulous, loving home for their dog. If so, we are interested in purchasing this dog.
We are looking for a dog who I can take on walks when I get home from work (weather permitting), that my husband can take on walks during the day when he feels up to it. A dog we can take in the car or truck while running errands or on a trip. A dog who will be kennel trained but also will be allowed to sleep on the bed with us at night if she wants and curl up with us in a chair. We are looking for another companion and family member who will mutually think we are just as great as we think she is.
We are not interested in breeding or showing and will not be doing any hunting, field trials, etc. with the dog. We are looking for a family member.
Please let me know if you have a female, or know of someone who has a liver and white female, that they would like to have a great home. I can guarantee this dog will have a fantastic life!
Make it a great day,
Mary Ellen Ramseyer (p) 503-390-3291 or email at: ramseyer_mary@hotmail.com
